Where do Celebrities Spend their Holiday?

  In spite of the funny cartoon, I don’t think that’s how Santa will be spending his holiday.  When most people think of the holidays and what they are doing, it’s usually wrapped around family and food.  Well, it turns out that celebrities aren’t that much different that the rest of us.

From the Brangelina clan to John Travolta and on, while a few travel to destinations like Aspen, most stay close to home.  They all mention the importance of being around family and enjoying the good food.  So, while not that glamorous of a location per say, definitely more enchanting that they value the important things in life.

While Brad and Angelina have spent holidays in France and South Africa and brought the whole family over to join them, they reportedly alternate each year from abroad to the states.  So, looks like this year, “they’ll be home for the holidays”.   Which home is the question since they have plenty to choose from.

John Travolta and Kelly Preston have the gift of their new son who turned one in November, so whether they are in Maine or wherever they are, they will have lots to celebrate.

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon usually spend the holidays in Aspen as do Will Smith and Jada Pinckett-Smith.  But, Ms. Christmas, Mariah Carey, and her husband may stay in New York again this year since those beautiful twin babies are still so small.  Regardless of the rumored splitsville for the Smith family, those rumors also have them spending their holiday together in a winter wonderland.

Gwyneth Paltrow is apparently a pretty good cook, her mother, actress Blythe Danner says, “We’ll all be together with lots of music, singing, playing games and eating food.  My daughter is a great cook. She cooked five ducks for my birthday two years ago, so who knows what delicious food she’ll have in store for Christmas.”

Taylor Swift, Reese Witherspoon and Brad Paisley and his wife Kimberly Williams will be staying put for the holidays and having their traditional Southern holiday in Nashville.  Hopefully they will have a winter wonderland to enjoy as well.

Lastly, the update would not be complete without mentioning one of the most talked about people this year, Ms. Kim Kardashian and her family.  If there’s ever a high-profile family who makes a big deal of the holiday season, it’s the Kardashians. It starts with their yearly Christmas card, one that we’re all familiar with even if we never get one.

After the card, comes the party – Kris Jenner’s annual Christmas Eve party to be exact.   It’s a monumental event for family and friends. Avril Lavigne will probably be there since she’s dating Brody Jenner, Bruce Jenner’s son. Ryan Seacrest was one of the guests last year.

According to Khloe Kardashian, “My mom has carolers, elves, and Santa even comes to hand out presents. It is amazing.” It’s not just little Mason who gets to take part in the fun. Apparently the sisters, even at their present ages, put on matching theme pajamas and wake up at 6am in the morning to open presents.

So, there you have it – celebrities and their holidays.  There’s a reason holidays are surrounded by traditions.  They bring us “home”, no matter who we are or where we spend them.  Happy Holidays!
